THE ORIGIN OF COFFEE

Coffee has its origin in Ethiopia.
Although there are a number of undocumented accounts on how coffee was discovered in Ethiopia, the most popular narrative is about Kaldi and his excited Goats. Around 700AD, Kaldi who was a Shepherd, noticed his goats dancing and looking hyper after eating a particular berry together with it's leaves. Kaldi mentioned this to a monk who seemed delighted to find something to help him stay awake at night. The monk came up with the idea of drying and boiling the fruit to make a drink. In the process of doing this, he threw some of the berries in the fire and it elicited a beautiful aroma which coffee is known for today. #Random History
